The new generation Kia Seltos is all set to be launched on January 2. Kia unveils its design and features first. Its price is yet to be announced. Interestingly, the new Seltos will be India’s first car to arrive in 2026. In the Indian market, the Kia Seltos will also compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara in the mid-size SUV segment. Not only that, it will also rival the Tata Nexon.
All these new models get design changes, new features and mechanical improvements. Bookings for the SUV are open across the country for ₹25,000 and deliveries will begin from mid-January 2026. According to media reports, the price of the entry-level HTE variant may remain the same as the current base variant, which is priced at ₹10.79 lakh. At the same time, the fully loaded top variant GTX (A) could see a steep price hike and could be priced around ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Dimensions and design
Compared to the current model, the new 2026 Kia Seltos is 95mm longer, 30mm wider and 10mm lower. Its wheelbase has been extended by 80mm. Now this SUV measures 4460mm in length, 1830mm in width and 1635mm in height, while the wheelbase is 2690mm. The design of the new Seltos is inspired by the Kia Telluride. It has a newly designed grille with vertical gun-metal accents. The SUV also gets new square headlamps, revised bumpers with black cladding, LED DRL signature, fog lamps with body color surround, new flush-fitting door handles, new 18-inch alloy wheels and inverted L-shape LED taillamps.
Premium features
Talking about the interior, the new Kia Seltos 2026 comes with a panoramic display setup, which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 5.0-inch HVAC display. Even the base variant has good features, while features like ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, connected technology, powered driver’s seat with memory function, dual-tone leather seat covers and Level 2 ADAS are only available in the top variant.
Engine options will remain the same
There is no change in engine options. It will get 115bhp 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp 1.5 liter turbo petrol and 116bhp 1.5 liter diesel engine. The NA petrol engine will be offered with 6-speed manual and CVT automatic options. The turbo petrol engine can be mated to a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The diesel engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
