The car itself signals that a major fault is about to occur, what do the warning lights say?

The Indian car market is advancing rapidly in terms of technology. Gone are the days when a car breaks down and is taken to a mechanic. Now many vehicles in the market equipped with modern technology automatically give signals before problems occur. If these signs are not ignored, major problems can be avoided.

Every car has a dashboard light that signals and comes on when your vehicle needs some sort of inspection. These lights indicate instrumentation, warning lights and control tools. Understanding your car’s emergency lights is very important for your safety and that of others.

This means that some part of your vehicle is not working properly. Such as a faulty car’s emissions system or a clogged diesel particulate filter. Apart from this, the reasons could be a loose cap of diesel or petrol, malfunction or failure of the ignition system or improper installation of the mass airflow sensor.

The ABS system helps maintain grip between the road and the vehicle and helps the vehicle stop quickly. If the ABS light comes on, it means the ABS system is not working properly. There can be several reasons for it to burn out such as normal bulb check, low brake fluid, speed sensor fault, wiring problem, control unit fault and solenoid fault.

The fuel gauge resembles a picture of a petrol pump and pipe. It shows the fuel level in your car. When the fuel runs low, it should be filled immediately. It also has an arrow, which indicates which side the car’s fuel tank is on.

Engine oil pressure

This light indicates that the engine is low on oil. Many times, even after adding oil, it leaks or evaporates. Another reason could be that the oil pump is not working properly, due to which the internal parts of the engine are not getting proper lubrication.

Battery charging

This light indicates that there is a problem with the battery. The most common cause of this is a broken alternator belt. Apart from this, corrosion on the battery terminal or post can also be the cause. This light also comes on if the battery cable is loose.

Tire pressure

This light comes on when the tire pressure is too low and it is not safe to drive. This means that one or more of the car’s tires are low on air. Low tire pressure can cause faster tire wear and damage. This light can also burn in high winds. Therefore, to keep the tire pressure light off, the tire needs to have the right amount of air.

engine temperature

This light indicates that the engine is overheating. This means that the engine is running longer than intended. This light also comes on if the coolant is low or the cooling system is faulty. Low engine oil can also cause the engine to overheat.
