Even though SUVs are becoming more popular in India, demand for sedans is still strong. In November 2025, sedan car sales were good year-on-year, although month-on-month sales declined slightly. Total sales of the sedan in November 2025 were 35,039 units, while in November 2024 it was 24,154 units. That is, a year-on-year increase of 45.06 percent was recorded, but compared to October 2025, sales declined by 5.84 percent, which clearly shows that demand has somewhat declined after the festivities.
Maruti Dzire is number-1 in the sedan segment. In November 2025, the Dzire sold 21,082 units, accounting for the largest share of total sedan sales. This is 78.98 percent higher than November 2024 and a slight increase of 1.4 percent compared to October 2025. The Dzire’s strong sales indicate that affordable and entry-level sedan cars are still in good demand among Indian consumers.

Hyundai Aura came second. It sold 5,731 units and grew by 34.91 percent year-on-year. However, the month-on-month sales declined marginally by 1.44 percent. Honda Amaze is third with sales of 2,763 units. It represents a modest increase of 5.14 percent year-on-year, but sales fell 23.88 percent compared to October, suggesting that demand has normalized after more deliveries in October.
Varna-City was left behind
Among mid-size sedans, the Volkswagen Vertus fared well with 2,225 units. Its sales grew by 52.71 percent year-on-year, though it fell by 9.29 percent month-on-month. Skoda Slavia sold 1,120 units. It saw a slight decline of 0.97 percent year-on-year, while month-on-month sales fell by 32.04 percent. On the other hand, sales of Hyundai Verna will continue under pressure. It sold 709 units in November 2025, down 41.55 percent year-on-year and 13.96 percent month-on-month. Honda City sales fell 14.67 percent year-on-year to 605 units. It is clear that their demand is still weak.
