Indian car company Tata Motors is preparing to make a big splash in the electric vehicle segment in the year 2026. Tata Motors has confirmed that it will launch 3 new SUVs in 2026. Currently, Tata Motors is the largest car manufacturer in the country, having recently achieved the milestone of selling more than two and a half lakh electric cars. Tata Motors has announced that it will launch Sierra EV, Avinya EV and Punch EV in 2026.
Tata Motors has the largest share in the country’s electric vehicle segment. All this is possible thanks to the wide range of electric vehicles offered by Tata Motors. Because most Tata vehicles are available in petrol-diesel as well as EV versions. Not only that, Tata has many options in different body styles, like Tata Tiago in hatchback, Tata Tigor EV in sedan, Punch EV in small SUV and Harrier EV in big car. The Nexon is Tata Motors’ best-selling electric car, which has been ruling the country’s EV segment for many years. Tata Motors plans to launch many more electric cars in the country by 2030.
Tata Avinya
Ever since its debut as a concept, the Tata Avinya Premium Electric Coupe SUV has been one of the company’s most awaited EVs. Tata unveiled the Avinya X at the Auto Expo 2025 showcasing its coupe SUV design and futuristic looks. Its production model is expected to be very close to the concept. Its key design features include T-shaped LED DRLs, closed front grille, vertical headlamps and silver skid plate. Its interior will get a simple design, dual-tone theme, two-spoke steering wheel and an integrated digital display layout.
Tata Punch EV (Facelift)
Tata Punch EV is India’s best selling electric car. This sub-compact electric SUV is all set to get a facelift for the 2026 model year. It may get minor cosmetic changes like new exterior and interior color options. The front design will see minor changes, while the interior of the cabin may get thinner bezels and an updated touchscreen infotainment system with a new audio setup. A slight improvement in the powertrain is also expected for better range.
Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV is also one of the company’s most awaited electric SUVs. After the launch of the new generation Sierra, the excitement about this EV has increased. Tata Motors has teased the near-production Sierra EV with its ICE version. In terms of design, it will be similar to the Sierra ICE, the only difference being that it will get body-colour and a closed front grille. The Tata Sierra EV will be based on the company’s new Acti.ev+ platform, which also underpins the Tata Harrier EV. It is expected to offer two battery options, a range of around 500 km and an all-wheel drive (AWD) option.
