Mahindra is gearing up to launch its new SUV line-up with new models based on the NU IQ multi-energy platform. Among the concept models that were unveiled earlier this year, the Mahindra Vision S is now the closest to production. Road testing of this compact SUV has started. The Vision S, introduced as a smaller variant of the Scorpio, will directly compete with the new Tata Sierra.
Mahindra Vision S
The new test model of the Mahindra Vision S compact SUV flaunts a strong and boxy shape. It has a straight front, flat bonnet and strong looks. The SUV has round headlights and a vertical grille, which gives it a rough and tough look. Like the Thar Rocks, it is also expected to have LED DRL (Digital Lights) integrated into the headlights. The radar unit is visible on the lower grill, which is included in the model. ADAS Indicates the presence of symptoms.
Equipped with independent rear suspension
One of the most attractive features of the Vision S is its high ground clearance. This is made possible by large wheels, high-profile tires and a long-travel suspension setup. Mahindra is also expected to offer a 5-link rear independent suspension in it. From the side, the SUV gets wheel arches, flat door panels, flush door handles and a flat roof. A large area of glass and rear quarter window provide good visibility from inside. The rear design looks completely SUV-like.
Dual-tone steering wheel
At the rear, the Mahindra Vision S gets tail lamps and a rear windscreen. The bumper design looks simple, while the spare wheel mounted on the tailgate enhances its sporty and off-road look. Overall, the rear design maintains the classic SUV look. Some interior images that surfaced earlier revealed that the Vision S will have a premium and technology-equipped cabin. A large panoramic sunroof is one of its key features. The dashboard will have two screens of approximately 2.3 inches. The SUV also gets a new three-spoke dual-tone steering wheel and dashboard design. Soft-touch materials are used in the cabin, further enhancing the premium experience.
Mahindra Vision S Features
Mahindra Vision S is likely to offer many features. These may include seat heating, hill descent control, traction control, off-road drive modes and a differential lock system. Dual-zone climate control can also be found in higher variants.Mahindra is yet to share information about the official engine options of the Vision S. However, it is expected that it will be launched first with petrol and diesel engine options. It may include a 1.2 liter turbo petrol and a 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine.
