Dhansu Bike discontinued all over the world except India, new model coming soon

KTM has discontinued its popular single-cylinder supersport bike RC 390 in many countries around the world due to several reasons. According to a recent media report, the RC 390 has been discontinued in the UK, Europe and other international markets, but will continue to be sold in India, as the bike is jointly produced with Bajaj Auto here.

The KTM RC 390 is the world’s most popular single-cylinder supersport bike. Its demand has declined in recent years. Due to this, KTM decided to discontinue this bike in markets like UK and Europe.

Why will sales continue in India?

Demand for the RC 390 in India is still such that it could run a limited production run, so the bike will continue to be sold here. In rest of the world markets, whatever stock is left by dealers will be sold by 2026. Also, updating the 373cc engine to Euro 5+ regulations would be expensive, further increasing the price and making the bike difficult to sell.

Engine Ko Laker Kya Baat Hai?

The RC 390 is the last bike in KTM’s 390 range that still uses the old 373cc engine. The Duke 390 and Adventure 390 have a new 399cc LC4c engine, which is Euro 5+ compliant. KTM is working on a new RC 390, which will have the same new 399cc engine, but its launch date is yet to be decided.

Will there be a new bike in India?

The RC 390 is still listed on the KTM India website, but the price tag says it’s coming soon. It is quite interesting. After GST 2.0, it was last priced at ₹3.23 lakh (ex-showroom). It is believed that KTM may soon launch the RC 390 with new colors and then the price may change.
