Mahindra will introduce its flagship XUV700 as the XUV 7XO with a new name and a new look. It’s not just a name change, but a complete technology upgrade, which will rival the luxury German brands. Notably, it will now have a triple-screen dashboard, a panoramic sunroof and a new Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos. It will be launched on January 5.
Duster, the pioneer of the mid-size SUV segment in India, is back in a more powerful avatar. After a gap of 5 years, the new Duster is built on the CMF-B platform. Notably, it has a robust set-up for rough roads, more ground clearance and a 4×4 variant, which could be the most affordable off-roader in its segment. It will be launched on January 26.
One of the most talked-about launches of the year, the Sierra EV brings back the iconic curved rear-glass SUV of the ’90s with a zero-emission future. The petrol and diesel Sierra have already received good bookings and the EV version is expected to do the same in 2026. It is built on Tata’s new Acti.ev architecture. It will get a premium 4-seater “lounge” variant and a standard 5-seater version for the driver. Its range will be around 450-500 km. AWD (All-Wheel Drive) option and Level 2+ ADAS, which will be the same as the Harrier EV. It may be launched in January 2026.
Maruti is now finally entering the electric segment with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. It is a global product developed in collaboration with Toyota. Unlike the current Grand Vitara, the e-Vitara will be an all-new EV. It will have two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh. A range of over 500 km is being claimed in the larger battery variant. It may also launch in January.
Mahindra is gearing up to give the Scorpio N a major mid-life update and the facelift model is expected to be launched in early 2026. After its launch in 2022, the Scorpio N quickly became one of Mahindra’s strongest vehicles and contributed well to the overall sales of the Scorpio brand. This SUV also helped the company gain a strong foothold in the SUV segment. The upcoming facelift model will focus on more features, new technology and a more premium experience than a completely new design.
