The Foundation to a Beautiful Complexion
Superstay 24 hour Foundation is the new release from American brand Maybelline which claims not only to last 24 hours but to also withstand heat, sweat and humidity! After needing a new foundation I decided to purchase the new foundation based on my previous use of Maybelline foundations and their general reliability to “do what it says on the bottle.” I therefore decided that the new Superstay 24 hour Foundation would be a trusty purchase. However, after a week of usage I am slightly let down the product. It’s fair to say that if you’re looking for a light coverage then this is not the product for you! The foundation is a thick creamy liquid which claims that it lasts 24 hours! In fairness, ‘superstay’ is not the kind of foundation that just disappears on your skin within about 2 hours maximum and it does stay put for a long time. Even though it may not last 24 hours it does last through a whole school day. Although, the foundation does last for a long length of time the thickness of the liquid means that there can also be a problem with blending the foundation. When you first put on the liquid it does blend well into the skin however its appearance can be evident and the fated “line” around the jaw of your face can appear. Unless of course you manage what seems like the impossible task of finding the Foundation that exactly matches your skin tone which seems very unlikely with only the small selection of 12 shades that the brand offers. This therefore means that either you have to opt for a shade that is as close a match as you get or you have to buy two different shades and blend them which works out as a costly solution! Overall, the Foundation is good if your looking for a foundation with a good coverage and something that will stay put the whole day with a low price tag. Although, if you were expecting this new 24 hour product to do exactly what it says then you will be greatly disappointed!
