Students take control

students-taking-overEverybody knows that teachers reluctantly drag themselves to work everyday. Confronting class clowns and wrestling rebellious students over homework are just a few highlights of a day to day routine of suffering teachers. BUT, what if all the teacher had to do at the start of lesson was just sit down, relax with a cup of tea and watch, watch as a student voluntarily stands up and teaches the class what he has learnt in the last module.
Well, this kind of enthusiastic role play trial can improve kids’ communication, confidence and preparation skills whilst enhancing their adaptability skills by trying to adapt to a new curriculum.

We all know kids love the power to determine what they will learn in class so why not let them. I suppose even if they don’t take the lesson seriously they can still communicate better with people there own ages which does show moral responsibility.
We interviewed the deputy head teacher of the first school on trial and she thought it would be a good idea and was willing to give the full backing to the association in charge of the trial. Mrs Berry said ‘Kids should be heavily involved in the construction of their own learning’. If so many influential teachers agree on this new curriculum then surely this is a good idea.
